Steve Morales
|
|
Steve Morales grew up in NYC. He started working as an intern at A-side sound studios where he ...
worked with Stanly Brown, Snow, and MC Shan. He wrote
and produced “Tell Me” for Dru Hill, which topped the charts and
set him off on his road to success. Morales soon after, began developing
an artist by the name of Reign who he signed to H.O.L.A. Recordings,
a label founded by "Jellybean” Benitez. Morales later moved to Miami
and met Emilio Estefan who introduced him to Jon Secada and Gloria
Estefan. While Morales worked on records for Secada and Gloria,
his manager introduced him to Enrique Iglesias who immediately took
a liking to Morales’ unique sound. He went on to work closely with
Enrique at The Hit Factory Studios in Miami. This collaboration
sparked the interest of Tommy Mottola and Jimmy Iovine who both
approached him with production deals. In 2001 Steve linked up with
Tommy Mottola and moved to NYC to produce exclusively for Sony Music.
He was based at Sony Studios and wrote and produced records for
Jessica Simpson, Marc Anthony, Thalia, Celine Dion, and Ricky Martin.
Several years later he moved back to Miami and built Icon Studios,
a high-end recording facility. At this time he re-united with Reign
and signed him to Interscope directly through Jimmy Iovine. |

New Years Day
|
|
LA-based Emo Pop-Punkers, New Years Day makes quite a noise with
their ultra-catchy, anthemic songs ...
that are loaded with daggers for lyrics. Making them
unique in the boy dominated punk scene is the bold presence of 22-year
old singer Ash Costello who provides distinct and empowering vocals
to a rock band that can really back it up. |
